| Genealogies and family histories are the core of the purpose and activities of the Society. Only a small portion can be published here. The publications listed on the Web, the LHS archives, the Ft. Wayne Library, genealogy sites and associations have lists and histories. This site is offers an opportunity for Members and readers to offer material to share, and inspire comment. Please list your source of information if possible. Published material should not include living persons. A good general rule is limit publication to those born before 1925. The material is subject to review and editorial comment before publication. The submitter is asked to list their name and email for communications. The LHS does not guarantee the accuracy of listed content. NOTE: THE UNDERLINED NAME HEADER IS A “HOTLINK” TO THE LHS NUMBERING SYSTEM. “CLICK” TO READ. |
| Genealogy research data The LHS encourages everyone to record their family history and genealogy relationships. Those with computers will find the commercially available software user friendly and very helpful is recording, documenting, organizing and preserving data. Recent versions also have places for family photos and other notations. Additional stories can be appended. Below is a work form used by many LHS researchers in the field to record information, and for permanent records, where computers are not used. These forms may be copied and used in the field. Any form of entry is welcomed as a contribution to the LHS genealogy archives. The value of our archives reflects the contributions of our members. We hope you will be part of the tradition. Any files and or publications of family histories acquired in your journeys are welcome. |

There are many family, church, and community cemeteries throughout the country that are dependent on volunteer efforts to preserve, restore, maintain and record the existing grounds, graves, and records. The identification, location, and recording of the cemeteries and the inscriptions are important contributions to the regional and national culture and history. Only by recording, preserving, and publishing these places and the inscriptions, can we have this history. The LHS is very grateful for their contributions. We publish a portion of these records on our web-site and in our BULLETIN for your interest and to stimulate your interest to participate in this effort in your community. A more extensive yet still incomplete listing of family names and records related to Livesay is found in the LHS archives, filed in the Allen Co. Library: http://www.acpl.lib.in.us/genealogy/ Livesay collection: http://webcat.acpl.lib.in.us/uhtbin/cgisirsi/wI5Cvkfapw/MAIN/44570110/9 This will give a listing of the contents of the collection. [at this time, the Allen Co. listing details are not on line. The documents must be read in the library] Volunteer services do not begin or end with the cemetery listings. Family histories, genealogy charts, public, church, and family records gathered, preserved and published for all historians to research and enjoy. All history is local. All local history is a part of the fabric of the national history. Family history is an important part of this fabric. We are grateful for all who share their findings and their stories. All students of history are sustained by the gifts of those who discovered and preserved records for those who follow. Thank you.
